Life Care plans are completed by Lifecare Innovations (LCI) to provide detail of care and cost of care over time. While the term “Life Care Plan” has been recently adopted by elder law attorneys and caregiving entities to mean different things, LCI provides Life Care Plans consistent with the traditional meaning and goal; –to document the care and needs of a disabled individual over time inclusive of associated costs.
LCI offers a choice of two types of Life Care plans. Clients whose attorneys are arguing complex cases may benefit from more complex plans. The more complex plan also places the LCI staff in a more knowledgeable position to testify about client case specifics. In other instances, a basic plan may serve the client/attorney purpose. In some circumstances, attorneys and clients seek solely to consult with LCI staff and do not require the production of any written documents. LCI does offer this service as well.
In cases where written Life Care Plans are preferred, the differences in the two levels of plans LCI offers include:

Important Points regarding Life Care Plans:
Lifecare Innovations bills all services at hourly rates.
The rate for Life Care Planning is determined on a case-by-case basis; generally the range is from $150 to $250 per hour, which does not include expenses.
The specific rate is determined and agreed upon at the commencement of services. LCI reserves the right to utilize the appropriate level of staff and charge at the corresponding staff rate.
Payment arrangements are 50% up front, with the remainder due prior to the release of the completed Life Care Plan, as is usual and customary in the industry.
Two expert level case managers work on all plans, with one designated as the primary Lifecare Planner.
The completed Life Care Plan is based upon LCI staff expertise and is not to be altered, reformatted, or otherwise changed by the recipient in any way, so the report’s integrity is maintained. LCI does welcome input from appropriate parties during the development of the Life Care Plan.
A Basic level plan can be upgraded to a more Complex level plan at any time.
Any upgrades, additions, addendums, revisions, alterations, or clarifications requested will be made to the original Life Care Plan at the established hourly billing rate.
Cost of expert witness testimony and associated expenses are difficult to predict; these costs may therefore not be included in the cost of completion of the Life Care Plan per se.
The original hiring party that contracts with LCI agrees to payment for any and all depositions and/or testimony required by LCI staff, regardless of whether or not the original hiring party/payer and the subpoenaing party are different entities.
