LCI Now Boasts Two National Master Guardians
Shay Jacobson and Lauren Sherman recently passed an arduous written test to become National Master Guardians. There are only 60 individuals nationally who have succeeded in passing the National Master Guardian exam, and just four others live in the State of Illinois.
The test, administered in conjunction with the National Guardianship Association conference, spanned several hours and is administered only to those who fulfill a number of pre-requisites. Master Guardian candidates must first become National Certified Guardians, have a graduate degree and at least three years of full-time professional guardianship experience, and have completed at least 30 hours of approved continuing education credit in the prior three-year period.
The test focused on expertise in the areas of decision making, courts and legal processes, professional business practices, the guardianship planning process, medical and complex issues, financial management and the limitations and termination of guardianship.
Shay Jacobson is President of Lifecare Innovations, and Lauren Sherman is Director of Guardianship.

Walking to End Alzheimers
Lifecare Innovations’ staff members joined a large, enthusiastic group to help in the fight against Alzheimer’s on Sunday, September 18, 2011. The event featured a 5K walk along the lakefront, made all the more fun by a blended group consisting of several business organizations. Our group was pulled together by our friends at Peck Bloom and we are grateful for all their efforts in bringing this wonderful opportunity together.
